Strawberry Festival Sep 26, 2014
The small town of Nemi in the Roman hills sits overlooking the small volcanic lake of the same name.It is 6 kilometers northwest of Velletri and about 30 kilometers southeast of Rome.
Nemi is famous for its wild strawberries, which are smaller and sweeter than commercially grown varieties , you can find them everywhere on the street and the smell is really great .
Exploring the town on foot is also quite convenient and easy since the streets here are very traffic free and most locals only walk around rather than use any other mode of transportation. Nemi has abundant natural beauty and green landscape with picturesque village like streets, which makes strolling around quite enjoyable.
Here u can taste the real Italian food , the best home made pasta , fettuccine con porcini, its impossible to pass near to the restaurant and to not feel the smell, garlic and mushrooms :)
"La Rosa" is a great restaurant , family business ,with good prices and nice people, all the pasta are home made and even the wine.
