Kruger Park Safari
posted by:
Aug 24, 2007 – Aug 27, 2007
We stayed at Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve. It was an amazing place! We saw all the "big 5" plus a cheetah and wild dog, which I was told is rare. Much earlier then I'm used to, we got up to do our morning game drive. I couldn't believe how chilly the air was, and I need a sweater. It was amazing…

Located in the north-east corner of the country, Nelspruit is the capital of Mpumalanga, South Africa's newest and fastest growing province. The city is an excellent base from which to explore the region's hotspots like the world-famous Kruger National Park, the Blyde River Canyon, God's Window, Bo…

After 6 months of travelling many things have happened. I saw whalesharks in Mozambique, heard lions roaring in Serengeti, smelled exotic spices in Zanzibar. Froze on the way to the summit of Kilimanjaro and sweated in the deserts of Oman. Met Xhosa people with painted faces in South Africa, sipped black tea with Pakistani workers in the Emirates and walked with Buddhist monks around stupas in Nepal...

What and awesome trip! I highly recommend it. Johannesberg was OK, fairly typical city. Cape Town was fantastic, visit the nearby beaches too! I went for a shark dive, but unfortunately there was a very bad accident that day(not with sharks), so I didn't get to go in the water, but I'd still recommend it. The obligatory safari at Kruger was very cool, with an additional day and a half spent at the Mohlabetsi private reserve, an excellent lodge/reserve!

The agent who picked up the car the next morning –blissfully unaware of the hardship we had put it through- dropped us off in town, where we ran a few errands and then got on a minibus to bring us right back to Maputo. How much easier it was to travel without all that baggage! In Maputo we had a …

Dingen regelen in Nelspruit
