Riu Tropical Bay - Arriving in Negril

Today turned out to be a whole new experience for me I did something that I have never done on any holiday before or for that matter never done at all but thats partly to do with the fact that London Doesn't have a beach (you'll see what i mean later). I had a fantastic Morning.  Our new friend 'NINJA' took me to a different part of the beach, this was not a beach for tourists but for the locals and If you knew a local then you could go there and live it up - jamaican style with them......

We had just a little more time in Negril before we had to check out of the hotel at noon and be on our way to Treasure Beach. For me that meant one more Jamaican breakfast and a walk down the beach to try and find our friend Kevin whom we'd arranged a ride to Treasure Beach with the night we arrived at the beach. It was the last chance to get some beautiful shots of Seven Mile Beach and I took full advantage of it. A short distance from the Bar B Barn I met my first distraction. I'll have to ...

Love the place, seven miles of white sand everything on the beach, restaurants, parties etc...if you're not on the strip you're in the wrong place...the west end is awful and crappy, the only thing there is Ricks and Xtabi..ok Negril is being ruined by the beach bums harrassing the tourists, but just learn to say no with conviction and they'll go away, then enjoy the sun the beach, the music and maybe a little love...IRIE ONE LOVE :-)

The beach activities!

Our hairy trip into Negril prefaced a wonderful, relaxing 10 day stay.  The non-routine was to get up (eventually) , swim, eat, read, swim, read, drink, swim and then plan an eating or music (or both) interlude for the evening.  The water was that wonderful carribean aquamarine colour and a perfect swimming temperature.  The beach entertainment was to see what came along on sale through the day.  It ranged from coconut, joooooce, cigarettes, patties, thongs (flip flop...

So had a mini meet up which lasted a few days, their first time in Jamaica. They were sweet people, Cheryl is now officially the little sis, so i'll make sure i'm on the island the next time they are here so i can show the many sides of Jamaica. The trip got better as my really good friend was doing a mother daughter vacation so they joined us for a few days.

Off to Jamaica

I decided to post this week altogether as there wasn’t much to add during this time. I know, I know, we were in Jamaica; surely there are things to talk about. However, for the most part we slept, went to the beach and ate. We stayed at Couples Swept Away, which I think I have already said. It was nice, the beach was awesome, the food was good, service was okay, the room needed updating. They also had a sports complex. It was really nice, except their workout room is open air, not air condi...
