Nawng Kham Little Inn Nyaung Swe Feb 20, 2013
I am very curious about this little guest house as Lonely planet guidebook recommend it and said this is a perfect formed guesthouse and set in a peaceful garden, therefore I insist to book this guesthouse for our stay in Yang Swe.
From outside the guesthouse look quite nice with shady garden full of Bougainville flowers and next to the temple with friendly receptionist. When we arrive, the receptionist shows us the room and carries our bags without filling the administration book or asks for the room payment as the manager was away in the morning. It seems they work on the trust system here. They didn’t ask any money until our last day there (we stayed for 5 nights).
At first the we get the room no E, which is quite small and compact with twin bed. However when the manager arrive in the afternoon, he moved us to a bigger room no B, which is more spacious than the first room and has a hot water tank next to the room so we can have the first hot water. The light in the room is okay, as long we lit the whole light and also the night light to make the room brighter, and easy to read book. It seem all the room in this guesthouse is really basic with twin bed, en-suite bathroom with standing shower and luckily working hot and cold water, and fan. We don’t need air condition here as it is cool enough during morning and night time and we explore the place during day time.
Unfortunately nothing else in the room, only two small tables to put our staff but no hanger or wardrobe, so it is a bit in convenient especially for me and no dresser either to put my make up. At that time, I was ready to move to another place, but we couldn’t find another place for the duration of our stay as some of the hotel or guest house was either fully book or only have room one day in between our stay there. Finally we settle with this little guesthouse and try to make the best of our stay. There were no internet in this guesthouse and we are not sure if there is any internet café nearby.
Breakfast is really good and plentiful, and serves in the garden. Usually we have delicious omelet with red pepper, spring onion, shallot and onion, fresh fruit of orange and bananas or water melon, bread, tea and coffee.
The manager and other staff are friendly and helpful. We booked the private boat tour around Inle Lake with this guesthouse which cost Kyatt 18,000 to go around the lake and temples from 8am to 6pm for sunset, also same price to go to the further temple and lumber market around 2.5 hours ride each way and visit temples along the way. We also rent a bicyle from this guesthouse which cost Kyatt 1,500 per day (24 hours) or Kyatt 1,000 if have a bike in the afternoon till next morning.
The price of this guesthouse is usd 20 for two people including breakfast. Overall we enjoy our stay in this guesthouse and no complain for that price and yummy breakfast.
