The Navajo National Monument, Betatakin Ruins provides another good stop.  These homes of the early Navajo, were built into the cliff overhangs of the region.  There were a couple of trails you take.  The staff at the visitor center suggested the half mile trail for us, telling us it was level, rather than the eight mile strenuous hike down to the bottom of the canyon and across to the other side and finally to the ruins themselves.   We took the half mile trail.  B...
