Nature Lodge Kinabatangan - Sloshing through the mud on the way to the oxbow lake. TIP: Rent the rubber boots (RM 5) rather than using your own hiking boots. You'll be glad.

Nature at Your Doorstep Aug 05, 2010
The Sungai Kinabatangan is not exactly the Amazon but those wanting a jungle river experience with some wildlife thrown-in without straying too much from your comfort zone, spending some time in this remarkable area is truly worth it.

We took a 3D/2N package at Nature Lodge which is located along the Kinabatangan opposite Kampung Bilit. Our room at the Civet Wing was a little small but enough for our needs and comfort level given where we were staying at.

We didn't get to see any crocodiles (though 1 group did) and elephants but we saw lots of macaques, proboscis monkeys, birds, lizards, snakes, and an orangutan. The guides were great and I can't even imagine how they can spot wildlife so easily amidst all those trees.

My friend and I had a great time at the Kinabatangan ang at the lodge. The staff were very friendly and helpful. And there were lots of activities (boat trips, night walks, etc).
