National Park Backpackers Manuel Antonio Reviews
Backpackers at the park entrance Jan 05, 2012
Summary : This place to me felt like it had potential however it wasn't that well organised. The staff told us that our reservation didnt exist and were rude and unwelcoming towards us. It's rather new and as such very clean, but it is very basic for the $30 you pay. Compared to other places we have stayed it was expensive for what you got. It's good if you want to see the park.
Security : Guard at entrance from 10pm to 6am
Wifi : Yes, common area - Free
Fan / Aircon / Heating : Fan cooled only, adequate for our stay, very hot during the day.
TV : No
Bathroom : Clean, cold shower - shared
Breakfast : None
Coffee : None
Kitchen facilities : Reasonable, enough to cook basic meals
Common room : Covered tables surround the pool in the middle of the hostel.
Bed : Basic but adequate.
Room : Small, lacking features, places to hang towels etc
Location : Good if you want to access the park or beach, it,s 100m to the park and 500m to the beach. It's about 2-3kms to Manuel Antonio town, which is 50c by bus running every 20 mins during the day, less at night - last bus at 9.30pm
Price : $30 for a shared bathroom double occupancy
Atmosphere and information : The atmosphere was somewhat lacking for a hostel experience, there were a lot of Costa Rician families staying there. At 7.30 they have a movie in the pool area but it is in spanish. They provide basic information regarding the park, surrounds and bus schedules.
