National Naval Aviation Museum
National Naval Aviation Museum Pensacola Reviews
Best Naval Aviation Museum Ever Dec 09, 2011
I had the chance to visit the National Naval Aviation Museum when I was stationed in Pensacola. It is beautiful with many exhibits and a wonder IMAX Theatre. The museum is free, but you have to pay for tickets to IMAX, although children are free and there is a discount for military active duty, reserves, and retirees. It is located on Naval Air Station Pensacola, so you will have to get through the bases security. You’ll want to make sure you have a valid ID and your car’s registration and insurance are up to date. Tell the gate guard that you are visiting the museum and you shouldn’t have too much difficulty getting in, however, I have seen them searching vehicles before.
It's easy to see there is great pride in history of Naval aviation. The museum is in pristine condition. There are also many ceremonies that take place in the building. It has a great little gift shop and a place to eat called the Cubi Bar Café where they have thigns like salads sandwiches (the menu items have cute names). You may also run into a few of the amazing Blue Angel pilots who seem to be there quite a bit.
If you are in or near Pensacola, this is a must see! Even if you aren’t into planes or aviation, the magnitude of the museum will be sure to move you.
Note: There is so much more, you’ll for sure want to check out the website for more info.
