National Museum of Singapore Feb 11, 2013
National Museum of Singapore has a beautiful building nested under the Fort Canning Park. They have few galleries that are very interesting and they are showcase of photography, film, fashion and food from Singapore. Rest of the museum… there are couple interesting things here and there, but generally it looks like someone just looted this place.

Film exhibition was the best one for me, featuring movies made in the past with some costumes, posters, equipment and nice interactive stories. Food gallery has stories from makers of local goodies, ways how people make different things and even “smelling machine” where you press the button and smell the spice. Fashion gallery features most of the materials used to make traditional clothing and then some more. Spend time listening to the stories, they are very interesting.

A cosy and infomative places about the culture, history and lifestyle of Singapore. It is located near to the Orchard Road, Singapore famous shopping district. Hence, one can continue exploring the shopping malls after the visit.

There are events and exhibitions from time to time, please check the website.
