Jelly fish and dolphins, worth the price in retrospect May 22, 2012
First off, the tickets to this aquarium are $30 per adult, a bit steep if you ask me. Parking wasn't cheap either; $17 at the near by parking garage, if I had done my homework before hand I would have probably found something cheaper close by.

Otherwise, this place was fantastic! When you walk in you are greeted by a waterfall dropping down into a pool with fish. Around the corner you show your tickets, which we purchased online and picked up at the counter (without the lines).

The staff was very friendly and without asking pointed us in the right direction, toward the elevator to the top floor where you should begin your tour of this aquarium.

The first room we walked into was the shark exhibit. There's a huge pool on the bottom floor that you look down to with HUGE sting rays, turtle (yes, one huge turtle with only one flipper), and a separate tank with a giant shark circling around.

You pretty much follow the way and it will lead you through this entire part, not much choice in direction, which is more than fine, because the place is overwhelmingly big.

This path will lead you to the rain forest part, which I found a bit dull. I saw one bird and heard a few more. No monkeys in sight.

My two other favorite parts where the DOLPHIN show and the JELLYFISH exhibit. It's been years since I have seen real life dolphins. The tank was bigger than what I remembered from places that I had been to before, so I hope that's a good sign that they are being treated well, and have enough space to play, which they did.

Like I said, this place is a bit pricey, but I enjoyed the hell out of it. Even more than the 2 year old toddler we had with us.

FOR PEOPLE WITH SMALL CHILDREN: Strollers are NOT allowed inside.

Monterey Bay Aquarium doesn't have any dolphins but tons of jellies of different kinds. :)

Wonderful day with the fish Jun 19, 2010
My husband and I took the Gallery tour. It was a bit pricy, but money well spent. The tour includes: an opporunity to see the main attractions before the crowds arrive, a behind the scenes look at the aquarium, an opportunity to help feed some of the animals, an all-day pass to go back and view the animals at our leisure, front row seats to the dolphin show, and souvenirs (a shirt and water bottle). The aquarium has a wide variety of ocean animals and the staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

A day with the fish Apr 28, 2009
I have been to the Baltimore aquarium on several occasions and will always keep coming back. There are tons of different exhibits (fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds, to name a few) and there is a dolphin show which I still have yet to see. To be completely honest, I am not sure if there is ever a time where it isn't too crowded, but I would imagine that going during the week might be a little less busy. Everytime I have gone, I have noticed that everyone is pretty good about moving along in a timely manner so others can take a peek at the exhibits. Don't forget to bring your camera!!

A day in Baltimore Jun 15, 2005
The Baltimore Aquarium is a really nice place to go when visiting the city. I know a lot of larger cities have their own aquariums but this one was very nice inside and out. There is a lot to do here and just looking around could take a few hours. They have amazing exhibits and a beautiful bird atrium with so many varieties of birds just flying around everywhere. They have a dolphin arena and you can watch the dolphins playing or watch one of the dolphin shows the time I went one of the dolphins had just given birth so all the dolphin shows were canceled. Instead we just sat in the stadium for awhile watching the trainers playing with the dolphins making them jump through hoops and feeding them fish. It’s a fun time and the layout is nice there are so many different animals make sure to bring your camera!
