I went on a bahamas cruise that left from the miami- based port. We were on a royal carribean cruise ship. Overall, it was a nice vacation..I wanted to be somewhere warm in december, and it was a nice getaway since it was my winter break! We visited the Atlantis Resort, and got just a taste of the Nassau Island. The weather was gorgeous!

Great get-a-way location! Almost perfect weather during the whole trip and GREAT snorkeling. We rented a van during this trip and gas was UNREAL. Conch fritters made to order on the beach...as were the bahama mama drinks!

Yesterday was our last sea day, 8 in all. We are in Nassau for our last stop of our trip. We have been here numerous times before so we are not doing much just walking around the town. We should be back home tomorrow after over a 100 days, and we are looking forward to seeing everyone

Pictures from the annual Junior Junkanoo parade in Nassau. Apparently, the Junior Program was designed to bring together local youth through workshops and seminars to learn the fundamentals of Junkanoo design, music, costumes, and dance.
The original Junkanoo festival is held on Boxing Day (Dec 26) and the Junior one is typically earlier in the month.

i've finally managed to escape the oh-so-fascinating world of hedge fund finance, and am now decadently indulging my long-suppressed wanderlust with 15 months on the road and around the world... *note: apart from the odd review (generally of something not found in your standard guide book), this is really more just a map of my travels than a proper blog, but if you want more information on anywhere i`ve been or what i`ve been up to, send me a message and i`ll see if i can rustle something up.

For Christmas, we decided to go for 1 week to Miami and then to take a 6-day cruise to the Bahamas, Puerto Rico and St. Thomas. At the end of the trip, we also visited the Everglades National Park.
