Nassau County Museum of Art Roslyn Harbor Reviews
Nice little museum Aug 12, 2009
The grounds for the museum were beautiful. It had sculptures everywhere and was nice to walk around outside.
Admission paid for both exhibits (with a student ID, it saved you a dollar, but even without the ID the price was $5). There were two main exhibits going on when I went there. The main gallery is located in a former estate. It was set up very professionally and the displays were very nice. The children's exhibit was housed in the miniatures museum area, but it was made more interesting with hands-on stuff for the kids. The exhibit there was Alice in Wonderland, so outside it had paper lanterns, a giant chess board and croquet. Inside, it was decorated with playing cards and you could build your own "house of cards".
The only bad thing about it was that you had to pay $2 for parking. Other than that, it's a nice lesser-known museum to check out.
