Narra Overview

Narra is a quiet municipality in Palawan which name was derived from National Resettlement Rehabilitation Administration (NARRA) which was created under the Republic Act 1160 of 1954 to resettle landless people from Luzon to Palawan.

Narra became a municipality in 1969 under Republic Act No. 5642.

The attractions here are:

1) Estrella Falls - located 6 km. from the highway of Bgy. Malatgao, Narra, Palawan. Awarded as the Cleanest Inland Body of Water-River Category in the National Search Declared as Municipal Park and Catchment Reserve

2) Rasa Island - home to endangered species of Katala or Abucay (Cockatoo) and 68 kinds of birds such as the Blue-Headed Racket Tail (Kilit-kilit), the Black-Naped Oriole and the White Vintage Shama.

3) San Isidro hotspring

4) Atong lake - 10 hectare lake located in Sultan Peak with an elevation of 980m above sea level. Wild animals and plant species may be found here.

5) Arena Island - an resort island for rent where sea turtles regularly hatch their eggs.
