Tbilisi - capital of Georgia is one of the ancient cities of the world, situated in the valley of the river Mtkvari. The place populated since ancient times, as far as four thousand years BC. During its long history, the City appeared the place of various nations and cultures.

Narikala fortress is not really a fortress at all, though I imagine it was at some point in the past. Today what is left is the walls of the compound and a Georgian Orthodox Church in the middle. What makes this one of the most beautiful places to visit in Tbilisi is the astounding views of the city that one can get from here. Also, it seems that the urban sprawl ceases on the other side of the mountain that Narikala sits upon, making for some great nature shots. Walking up to Narikala can be tedious, so I would recommend a taxi. Once you get up there, be careful walking around the foliage.
