I checked out from my hostel in Napoli Mergellina and brought my luggage to the station and left it at the left luggage office. Then i headed to the center - to discover all those places i didn't manage on the previous day. It was really another strange experience of the life in Napoli. Now i know …

Today started with just one place to visit, Napoli Sotterranea.  This is an tour of the underground area of Napoli.  Without a long list of to-dos I slept in a bit and slowly walked to the tour entrance.  Once there I was quickly greated, and politely told that the tour didn't start …

Another early morning, 2:30am early for that matter. I had a flight to Naples leaving at 6:55am and these were my options:a. Get up at 4:30 to take a cab to the airport from my hotel, that apparently took half an hour, that would cost at least €45.b. Get up at 2:30 to catch the city bus to the ai…

Day trip to Naples/Pompeii.

Had a four day weekend, so I took a day trip to Naples and the ruins of Pompeii. I had my hotel set it up. It was basically a bus tour. The bus picked me up at the hotel and took me to a meeting point, where I met with other people going on the tour. We then got on another bus and headed for Naples…

And so, after a week driving around Italy, we finally arrived at our end destination... Naples. I know I mentioned in my earlier blog on Pisa that we were pleasantly surprised the Italian motorists weren't quite as crazy as we had been lead to believe... but this was all to be but a distant memory …

Today we went on our first day-trip to Naples. It was amazing. We went to a church where Caravaggio's The Seven Acts of Mercy was commissioned for and where it is still displays. Just a normal (though beautiful) Catholic church where people go to mass and services everyday. And the Caravaggio just …

I volunteered in a little village called Pescosolido - located right between Rome and Naples - for two weeks(August 25th,2007-Septemer 8th,2007). We lived and worked together with the other volunteers and after work (we worked only 4 hours from 8a.m. every morning - cleaning the rooms/helping Maria in the kitchen or Giuseppe in the garden) then spent the afternoons with the guests. Had a lot of fun - can't even describe...Watch the pics and you'll see!!!:-)

We were left in Naples for a few days longer than planned. First off we decided that we wouldn't have enough time to go to Sicily so we made the executive decision to forego it. I can only marvel at what we missed out on. Then the next day we missed the last train out of Naples to Rome by minutes..…

Not much to write here. We literally stopped for 10 minutes to take pictures of the shoreline. Naples' port area looks a LOT like Porto, Portugal.
