Napier Vacation Guide

Napier is proclaimed the "Art Deco City" of the world, after it was re-built in the 1930s in the wake of a very destructive earthquake. The city was re-built using traditional art deco techniques, most of which are still preserved today. The main road along the water is called Marine Parade and there you will find accommodation for every budget, the National Aquarium (where you can see kiwi birds!), and the tourist iCentre. Napier is a good place to start on your New Zealand wine tour because the Hawke's Bay region is home to some fabulous wineries!
