After tidying up a few loose ends, we set out for the BC Ferry Terminal at Departure Bay. Although we expected to be on 3:00pm ferry, the ferry corporation had dispatched the old Queen of Nanaimo to run an overload trip at 12:45pm. The Nanaimo is one of the older, smaller & slower ferries that was built in the era just after the Blackball Ferries were "nationalized." In spite of the wind and swells, the weather was warm and sunny and the ferry made good time - arriving at Horseshoe Bay a…

So much for normal roommates - the San Francisco girl is ok but at the
bottom of Diane's bunk seems to be the local Nanaimo drunk! She
came in very late last night, poured herself a few whiskey's, rocking
the bunkbed and proceeded to eat the loudest crackers for about half an

This by far has to be the most incredible place that I've been to. British Columbia is amazing, beautiful, full of life and adventure. Even though we lost our car in Chinatown, it was still all worth it!!

In August 2007 my friend was planning a trip to BC. I was down on my luck, between jobs. So in the last minute i decided to join my friend in BC and ended up having a very exciting trip! We had no reservations and nothing planned. We arrived in vancouver and rented a car. We hit the road and what would follow was truely an experience to remember!

First trip to Vancouver Island was in May 1996 I spent three weeks there! Great place always worth a visit! Fantastic west coast!! And that (+ another reason) is why I came back in September to spend some more time there. In the end it was nearly two years! I will combine the pictures to one travelblog!
