Well known as one of the world's busiest pedestrian shopping street, but also one of the oldest's commercial street of Shanghai. Go early morning to see if you can catch a morning stretch workout of the employees, or look for old school products sold in unexpected stores, like "White Rabbit Creamy Candy" (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Rabbit_Creamy_Candy), a candy with rich creamy history associated with the City.
