Namuang Safari Park Koh Samui Reviews
The most terrible place I've been to during my trip! Jul 22, 2012
One word: disgusting! They treat the elephants very bad. I saw some bleeding. In the brochure they promise you ‘elephant trekking’. In fact it is just a 10-minutes trek in the park. Not worth the penny and certainly not worth seeing how they treath the animals. I saw a mother elephant chained. She had to start here trekking and the ‘mahout’ took her and led her to the trekking place. While she was walking with the baby next to her, she was still in chains. She could hardly move. It was so sad to watch!
My son and I decided a few days ago after a visit to the Elephant Nature Park (Chiang Mai – one of my other reviews) that we wouldn’t do the elephant trekking cause most animals are threatened badly. We didn’t know if it would be the case in the safari park but after seen this, we were so glad we didn’t participate to this cruelty!
A girl I got friends with during our trip, did the elephant trekking and she witnessed that the elephant was being pooked by a stick until bleeding.
After some rounds the elephants got a “shower” by water lance. How sad! An elephant must bath in the water at least once a day.
There is an elephant show as well but also out of principe we didn’t go! Who wants to see an elephant draw a picture?!
We took the cable ride instead. Also not worth a penny. It’s very short and seemed not very safe as well. I was glad nothing happened.
There is a tiger and a leopard in the park as well. They are just lying there in a rather dark room so tourists can take pics. I’m almost sure the animals are drugged. So sad!
The only thing that was OK was the waterfall.
I can only say: please, don’t go there! If you do, you keep supporting the bad threathment!
