Better then chuckecheese in the states! Feb 17, 2012
If you ever visit japan, you must stop by Namji Town in Ikebukuro. Its only a 10 minute walk from the station and its locate at Sunshine City Shopping Mall, just ask a local or find a 7/11 and they will point you to the right direction. This place is just like Chuck e' cheese, but instead of having a big Mouse as a mascot, they have cats, weird but cute.

This place has a 4 big section of, One of them is dedicated to ice cream and has all types of flavors from your basic vanilla to your Snake flavor. the other is Gyoza Town, if you love gyoza, you'll LOVE this place! :D There is a good size arcade next to the ice cream place. And one more thing, this has a creepy hunted section too which is pretty cool but beware if you use the western toilets in the girl's bathroom!! you have been WARNED :)

Ice cream City! Nov 06, 2010
This is one of the crazier food based theme parks I have found in Japan. There are two floors of insanely confusing passages, leading to various food related stalls, pockets of purikura (photo) booths, dark corners with creepy things coming out of the walls and dead-ends.

The ice cream city section of the town is amazing! There are about 8 stalls selling various versions of ice cream- shaved ice, crepes, ice cream pots, waffles and cones. However it is the flavoured pots of ice cream that really make this place unique. Lined up along the walls in huge freezers are more than fifty different flavours of ice cream. There are delicious flavours like pear and caramel cheesecake, but there are also bizarre flavours such as rice, charcoal, salad or ox tongue. Last time I visited I tried shark fin and noodle ice cream. It was interesting, but definitely not a flavour that I need to try again.

Besides the amazing ice cream collection there is also Gyoza Stadium- a festival style laneway of different types of gyoza; including cheese, mayonnaise and mentai.

To top it off there is a separate sweets area with fanciful cupcakes and cute character-inspired sugary treats.

Namja Town also has amusements and assorted rides that require a separate (more expensive) entry ticket, about 2500yen. I recommend just getting the entry ticket, 300yen and then stuffing your face with as many flavours as possible. Ice cream, food etc is priced separately and not included in the entry price.
