Nakki Lake Abu Reviews
Touristic but essential Feb 08, 2011
Nakki Lake is situated at the heart of Mount Abu, and is a rather touristy but beautiful spot to venture through. In the daytime, many people use this areas as a setting off point for their trekking or pony riding adventures around Mount Abu. During the evening, the fact that the lake is close to so many restaurants and shops means that the area is alive with people and hustle and bustle.
However the lake is also steeped in history. It is mentioned in the ancient Hindu scriptures as an area which was dug out as a safe haven for gods seeking protection from a wicked demon. It is also the sight where some of Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were scattered.
The views are also very nice from here, and if you are in Mount Abu, there is a high chance you will pass this lake!
