4 months of Kenya is good for your mood :)

In the summer of 2004 I went to the land of my father. Though loss called me there (my grandmother's passing), I gained so much from my journey. I met family members, rode a camel, went to a crocodile farm, celebrated my birthday, and cried when it was time to leave. Hope to go back soon!!

Flew into Nairobi, drove over to the Masai Mara and spent a couple of nights there before driving through Uganda to the border of the Congo. Crossed over and went to the Virunga National Park to see the mountain gorillas. Drove back to Nairobi, on to Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti and finished up in Zanzibar.

So, I spent 8 days in Mozambique, and my basic conclusion is that I would have liked a month. As a little aside, if I had been a little smarter with my timing, I could have made it 10 days, which has brought home an important lesson about planning. It is infinitely preferable to travel withou…
