Nairrobi national park is a natural reserve in the capital city of Kenya. It is the only one of its kind in the world in that it is only 15 minutes drive from the city centre.

It has all the major animals except the elephant. Here you will find cats; lions, cheeter, hyena, leopard and smaller ones.

The herbivores here are many and varied; the buffalo, antelopes, gazelle, zebra and many others.

Its proximity to the city makes it convinient to travellers in that you can return toi your hotel any time you want.

Lately the management wants to start camp sites fior those who would want to spend the night with the animals.

There is a safari walk inside the park; where you can take nature trails within secure areas.

There is a well kept restaurant within the park.

Warthogs are the first animals to greet you as you enter the park offices as they graze freely unputurbed the the going in and out of humans.

Make a date with Nairobi national park and you shall not be disappointed.

nice warm animal park within a city Jul 06, 2011
Nairobi, national park is a safe environment for both locals and foreigners to go ans sample wild animals even though caged ,its an experience like no other, the best time to visit the park would be during early morning as most animals like to bust out in the early sun as when the sun gets to be too hot they go and take cover to cool off,in case you are hungry there is a nice restaurant within the park that sells nice traditional and international delicacies at considerate prices ,safari walks are well arranged trails and each trail has detailed information about the animal you will see on that trail..lots of birds to watch ,Masai Giraffes, cheetahs, hippos, mixed breed of donkey and a gazelle its an amazing animal to see, crocodiles, baboon, monkeys, nice forest, tortoises, among others ,its an overall nice park to go get to learn about wild animals up close!

Affordable day trip Aug 07, 2011
Nairobi National Park is situated 7km away from Nairobi City Centre. There are good public transport links to the park (You can use a matatu - local public vehicles) via Langata Road. The park is not far from Wilson Airport about 1.7km.

The park is unique because its only protected area in the world close to a capital city. Its home to the Black rhinoceros - they are now considered an endangered species.

Other animals found in the park are hyena, cheetah, lions, zebra, buffalo, lions. There is also a large species of birds

The park fees will vary: the fees are split into tourist or resident/citizens fees.

Nairobi National Park is one must place to visit if you are on a short trip

This was well worth the money and I would highly recommend doing this if you are going to Nairobi. The national park was full of wildlife and great photo opportunities. There is nothing else to say, other than it was everything I expected and I was not let down. After visiting the park, stop off at Carnivores (restaurant) for a cold Tusker (beer) and as much various grilled meats you can eat.
