Nahm-Jim Thai Restaurant Saint Andrews Reviews
Great Thai - Sushi restaurant in St. Andrews May 29, 2011
It was the last evening in Saint Andrews and we wanted to find a great place to eat. Inge had as always looked in all guides for a place that would be good and so far she had been right all the time so we trusted her instincts. We were quite late after British standards because it was getting just past 9.30 pm, which is normal for Belgians but far from normal in Saint Andrews; I guess people have to get early up in order to play golf.
We entered the Nahm-Jim Thai Restaurant and they said it was closed for new orders because it was Sunday evening. David looked at her in the way only he can do and she went back and checked. The restaurant was quite full at that point but a rule is a rule until it is not. Another woman came back and she said the same thing and again David gave her the look. She said shortly after that she would see what they could do and 1 minute later she was back and said we could have a nice corner table.
The interior in the restaurant was quite oriental; they had a warm red colour as the base on the wall and all the furniture were made of some extremely heavy dark wood. I remember that the chair probably weighed 10-15 kilo. There were loads of flowers some of them in plastic and a huge fish tank at the entrance but it was a nice place to visit.
The menu was a mix of Thai food and Sushi and we decided to go for some sushi dishes. The food was fabulous and we were really pleased with what we had. I guess also that they were pleased because we managed to not be the last ones leaving the restaurant.
