So we’ve been living in North Carolina for almost a year now and sampled exceeding few of its attractions.  Time to correct this shortcoming and head for the Outer Banks!  The trip was thanks to my brother-in-law, who invited us to join an annual get-together he has there each summer with a bunch of college buddies and their families.  They’ve been doing this almost every year since the early 1990’s, so there was obviously some vibe we needed to get in touch with. ...

This morning a school of fish attracte pelicans an dolphins to our beach.  Then we all went to climb the giant sand dunes at Jockey's Ridge. 

So I got into Nags Head and was instantly in love.  It's a great little beach town with a whole lot of money involved in it.  I stopped at the Oregon Inlet information center on my way down to the National Seashore.  Then I drove.  Through the sand dunes, next to the ocean, next to the bay.  It was amazing.  I've never really spent much time in this type of ocean, normally very flat areas next to the cities, resort beaches more.  This was so natural and seem...
