The Maritime Museum is located on the 3rd and 4th floor in the Nagoya Port Building. It shows mostly the history of Nagoya Port, a few types of cargo going to and from Japan through the years and modern ways of cargo transportation at sea. Only a tiny room with information about foreign ports were labeled in English. The rest of the museum had no explanations in English. There was a lot of computerized activities for children, but again, only if you speak and read Japanese.

For foreigners I don't find this museum of much interest. Spend your time elsewhere!

Open 9:30 am - 5:00 pm (until 8 pm during Golden Week and summer holiday). Closed on Mondays.

Admission: 300 yen/200 yen adult/child. Combination ticket, including the Fuji Antarctic Museum and the Observation Deck: 700 yen. For 2,400 yen it will also include the Nagoya Port Public Aquarium.
