Nagkalit-kalit Waterfall Jan 16, 2013
A bit of the bad weather with stronger winds caught with us on El Nido, so renting motorbikes and exploring the area was a good idea. One of the closest places to go is waterfalls. It took us around 20 minutes of riding the road that is half way paved and rest of the way is covered in well maintained gravel. Everything on the island is done in some kind of improvisation and approximation so I was surprised to see the board that said WATERFALL PARK HERE. Small path between two palms could not accommodate anything more than a motorbike, and we managed to pass it without losing anyone. We ended up in the small garden with few buildings and kids calling adults to come and offer us a “guided” tour. I usually don’t take any guides, but we were in the middle of the nowhere without any map, and locals told us that there are many crossroads on the way and that military had to go and rescue some tourist week before (nice touch). There was 5 of us and after arguing a bit, we came to the price of 300php for all of us.

It appeared that we did good thing because we would be lost after first 10 minutes. Path takes 40 minutes and crosses creeks and rivers 6-7 times. There is no bridge so you’ll have to jump over stones or walk through the water. Waterfall did not have much water (monsoon season ended month before) but it was still very pleasurable. Small pool on the bottom is deep enough for jumps, and couple of stones allow for good pictures.

I wish that "guides" clean a bit of trash that lays around.
