Nagano-ken (Nagano-Prefecture:長野県) is located in the Chūbu region of Honshū(the biggest island), Japan, and its capital is Nagano-shi. When the Ciy of Nagano hosted the Winter Olympics in 1998, a new Shinkansen (bullet trains) line was built, and the access from Tokyo area was greatly improved.
Nagano's is a very mountainous region, and it doesn't have any coastlines. Nine of the twelve highest mountains in Japan are found in this inland prefecture. Due to its geographical features, Nagano is a great area for outdoor activities such as hiking, camping mountain-climbing, and skiing.

Yatsugatake is famous for a climbing mountain in Japan.
Its altitude is high, and we can enjoy a beautiful snow scene because of clear weather is a lot in winter.

On our first evening we went to a traditional Japanese pub for some dinner. To choose our meal we pointed at something on the menu and ended up with spaghetti bolognese....
