Feb 08, 2006
Tomorrow we climb the 999 steps to the fortress above Nafplio. The stairs
wind up and up and up the hill side. It will probably take over an hour
for me to climb it. BUT I WILL! David's knee is very painful from the climbing we have done…

Eventually we arrived in Nafplio.... It is such a nice town.... It was late so we decided to just have a nice dinner instead of walking the town. We went to a great restaurant along the front... We chose it based on the number of locals we could see. So far this has w…

From 3 oct. til 10 oct I made a schooltrip to Greece, the Pelopennossos. (I don't know if I write it as it belongs)
But it was very very nice and cosy. I've been to Delphi, Olympia, Pylos, Mykene, Korinthe, and many more. Check the pictures!

Just photos with brief explanations from 90 days traveling in Greece, May-August, 2003. Mostly Cycladic islands and archaeology, because I was there as an archaeology student. Explanations may be forthcoming!

Not sure exactly where we're staying for two nights, but we know we'll be in the Peloppenese area of Greece. Does this count as "slop"? ;)

i've finally managed to escape the oh-so-fascinating world of hedge fund finance, and am now decadently indulging my long-suppressed wanderlust with 15 months on the road and around the world... *note: apart from the odd review (generally of something not found in your standard guide book), this is really more just a map of my travels than a proper blog, but if you want more information on anywhere i`ve been or what i`ve been up to, send me a message and i`ll see if i can rustle something up.

Hong Kong -› Xiamen, China -› …
Setting off from Hong Kong in Aug 1992, 2 days after turning 22, I traveled China, Mongolia, Russia, Scandinavia, the Baltics, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East, returning to Hong Kong in July 1993. Apart from Athens/Cairo, I never set foot on an airplane during this year-long walkabout. Before the days of digital cameras, internet, and mobile phones, this solo adventure was as much a discovery of myself as it was about these 31 countries. Many of them, like me, have long since changed.

Bilbao, Spain -› Coimbra, Portugal -› …
Climb through mountains where we glimpse patches of snow. Quaint villages that must have been painted on to the sides of the steep mountains. Shepherd's and goatherds wave as they tend their flocks in the unfenced country. At about coffee time we pass through a village where a wom…

Next morning, after breakfast I had a long conversation with Susanna's husband about the best route through Arcadia. Following his recommendations, we set off on the Ethniki Odos for Lagkadia. After Lagkadia, we turned south and passed through Dimitsana before stopping for lunch at Stem…
