There are a bunch of awesome NYE parties, raves...whatever...depending on your budget and how much craziness you want:

-Celebration and Millenium clubs are ok for new years.
-Club 737 (on top of a tower, so awesome view, but very ritzy, exclusive)
-Resolution 08 at the Bell Centre is the biggest and craziest NYE party but pricy: 100$ its open till 12pm! if you can afford it, do it!)
-Unity II in the gay village (its a mixed crowed though) is really cool for new years and much less expensive (20$ or so).

Check out these websites to book tickets in advance or check out more clubs:

Tokyo2 and Rouge are smaller clubs with flare on a great clubbing street (St-Laurent) but Buona Notte, Sofia, Gogo which are also on that street and equally cool will just sap your money.
Don't go to La Boom unless you want to be surrounded by minors.
Anything on Crescent street (like Opera Club) is going to be fun.
