NS Hispeed snack service Utrecht Reviews
Basic offering, but reliable Aug 03, 2008
The Inter-City Brussels train of the NSHispeed company, which deals with international trains going out of The Netherlands is a very interesting affair. It's not a big branded train like, say, Thalys, or ICE, but a very reliable, old-school train, with very simple seating and luggage racks. Now, not being a branded train means you get two sets of conductors, one for the Belgian side and one for the Dutch side.
The at-seat snack service is available only on the Dutch side, where you can get a coffee and some crispy snacks. It's good mostly if you're either very early, or very late in the day and want to munch something or charge your batteries with coffeine for the rest of the journey. I wouldn't advise, however, to rely on its offerings as a breakfast option.
