NH Brussels City Centre Reviews
Pleasant modest business hotel Mar 26, 2012
Quite contrary to what it's name leads to believe, the NH Brussels City Center is not all that centrally located. It is a modest but nice 4 star hotel in the upper town of Brussels, about 30 minutes' walk (downhill) to the Grand Place. Luckily it's easily accessible from the historic center by metro (stop Louise) and tram (Place Stephanie).
It's a modern hotel with a contemporary brasserie on the street side. Upon entering the reception is a few steps down. Check-in went very smoothly and friendly and in no time I received the key to my room.
I got a corner room on the 4th floor, giving out to the street. Upon entering there was a long coridor but the room in itself was rather small though modern and pleasantly decorated. Apart from the bed, there was a working desk, a chair, a minibar and flatscreen tv.
The bathroom was equally small but spotless and had a nice walk-in shower. Above the sink there were the basic amenities but more items such as a comb, toothbrush or shaving kit, could be obtained upon simple request. A hairdryer was also readily available.
At night there was some noise from the street (party people returning home) but there was no nuisance from inside the hotel.
Wifi is free in the lobby and in the brasserie in the front, though in the bedroom the internet needs to be paid. For quickly checking mails, the free access downstairs is sufficient.
Breakfast was served on the ground floor in a large area behind the reception and consisted of a very large and varied buffet. Apart from all the regular items there was even a huge strawberry cake.
Upon check-out I had to leave very early but got a breakfast box with a sandwish, yoghurt, apple, candy bar and bottle of water. The hotel is certainly good value for the money I paid.

.The hotel is about 10-15 mins walk from the Grand Place in Ixelles. There is a Paul bakery just next door, plus a great health food shop with outdoor eating also nearby and a small supermarket. I paid 75 euros per night. The hotel takes a deposit 50 euro, which back on credit card after 3 days. Clean and quite hotel. The room was clean, modern and with a very good bathroom. The bed was so comfy. There is a small fitness centre in a hotel. Free Wi-Fi. Staff are so nice and helpful. I would stay there again without any hesitation.
