The road to traditional Beijing Mar 18, 2008
Beijing is a big city, so as to me, a tourist from America, I will go to my favorite places in a limited holiday. Last November, I experienced a unique trip in Beijing. It is unique because I love the traditional Chinese culture and heritage, and I chose the places of interest which can embody the feature of traditional Beijing.

I. the unique hotel to stay------N.E. Courtyard Hotel (王家客栈)
I found a Beijing travel review about this hotel on the internet and then log on their hotel website. I was a little bit fascinated by the hotel website introduction and then I decided to chose it. This hotel is really fantastic with its Chinese traditional style and I fell in love with it immediately. Staffers there are helpful and informative with high standard of English. The hotel location is so convenient to explore central Beijing, just within walking distance from the Zhangzizhong Lu subway station, and once inside the hotel you would absolutely do not know you're in the centre of a metropolitan Beijing, the hotel is in the old Beijing hutong and the atmosphere is so peaceful and quiet. I am looking forward to coming back here in the near future. In one word, the price here is reasonable and the service is perfect.

II. the unique places of interesting to go
Maybe young people do not like the Peking opera in China; I think the situation is the same to foreigners in China. But it is said Peking opera is the quintessence of China and many middle-aged or above like it. Although I am still young, I would like to try to taste it. The place I go is called Jianguo Hotel. There are Peking opera shows everyday. I think if I know more about Chinese culture, I could understand the meaning of the Peking opera better. Undoubtedly, it is a important part of traditional Chinese culture.

III. the unique food to eat
In China, especially in Beijing, you could find many different delicious local flavor snacks. The reception staffs at the N.E. Courtyard Hotel recommended me the Houhai flavor snacks street. There are so many kinds of Chinese traditional snacks I do not what their name are. And many foreign tourists were enjoying themselves. I like the taste of the snacks there, I like the people there and above all I like the atmosphere there. During the end of your trip, you still could bring some Peking snacks, like guopu, to your friends.

Joudau says: Ended up not staying here long since I found friends to stay with, but the staff was great and the beds and bathrooms were comfortable. The showers are amazing, one of the best ones I have used. Definatly would have stayed if I did not have a free place to stay.
easyjobrob says: The China World Hotel is the epitome of a fine international hotel. As you sweep up the majestic drive to the front lobby you are greeted by smiling and helpful staff.
