Another great spot just North of the Washington Monument (the original, not to be confused with the one in DC). The owner is married to a Thai woman and both travel back to Thailand on a regular basis. In a city without a whole lot of authentic Asian offerings (and no Chinatown), My Thai is quite good. There are the pad thai, drunken chicken, and other Thai menu staples, but there are a couple of really nice surprises like a braised eggplant entree and a papaya salad that's fantastic. I've never tried the sushi, and there's enough on the Thai menu that I doubt I will (not with the Kawasaki Cafe so close by).

Prices are in the teens, and the servings are substantive. The spiciness is tempered for a western palate, so if you really want spicy you have to ask for it.

I've got to try it myself. I like the one in Columbia. They have real Thai food.
