Mövenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea
Mövenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea Reviews
Luxury at the lowest point on Earth Jul 25, 2008
Whilst I can't speak to the actual accommodations at the Mövenpick Dead Sea Resort, as I only spent the day there and didn't see the inside of any of the suites, I can say that this is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. It is, hands down, the most luxurious of the resorts on the Jordanian side of the Dead Sea, and features the fantastic Zara spa, as well as multiple outdoor pools and private access down to the beach on the Dead Sea.
The hotel also features a bar, which is one of the only ones at the Dead Sea. The outdoor patio near one of the pools, overlooking the Sea, has several cabana-style tents which are perfect for escaping the sweltering heat. The resort has multiple restaurants and an ice cream bar, which was very exciting for us. Daily, there is a themed buffet in the Al Saraya dining room, and guests can find anything from sushi to Italian to Chinese food in the many restaurants. The resort is, unfortunately, very expensive. If you are spending any period of time in Amman, however, a day trip to the Dead Sea is definitely in order, and can be reached from Amman via taxi in about 30 minutes. Even a day trip will cost you, and set you back over $50 - but that gives you unlimited access to the pools and the beach, as well as a voucher for the buffet meal and a discount on spa treatments. Overall, I'd say it's definitely worth it! Part of the The Holy Land travel blog |
