Mustard on 32 Race Course Road offers the most exquisite of North Indian cuisines -- Bengali and Punjabi -- in this most exotic and least pretentious of places. Not to be missed are the Chingri Maacher Malai Curry (prawns in green coconut), Baingan Ka Bharta (spiced eggplant roasted in clay oven, mashed and sautéed with onions and tomatoes) and Kabab e Tashtar (mixed kabab platter) -- comprised of Sunehri Murgh (tandoori chicken), Kastoori Kabab (special chicken kabab), Murgh Tikka (chicken tikka), Kali Mirch ka Tikka (spicy chicken kabab), Reshmi Seekh Kabab (chicken and mutton kabab), Masale Waliyan Chaampan (lamb chops) and Mahi Tikka (fish tikka). Spice up your meal, as well, with no less than exquisite sides such as Paneer Pakora (chunks of fresh cottage cheese dipped in gram flour batter and fried), Garlic Nan, Onion and Tomato Raita (home-made yoghurt), and Dal Makhani (black lentils simmered overnight on clay oven and cooked with spices). Beers (India's Kingfisher and Singapore's Tiger) are pretty cheap here -- a big bonus in itself.
