If you don't like museum, you might change your mind when you visit this one. Usually I don't like to visit museum much but it depends on what are in there also.

If you take one day trip around Grand Palace and Wat Poe, I think Museum of Siam is another one that you should visit. It's not far from those places, easily walk to.

Museum of Siam is the newest museum of Thailand. It represents the development of Thailand, Thai people and Thai culture with an interactive techniques that you can join and have fun with it. Not only just get inside and can see things but you have to do something with it to make them show you more - not like the others that sometimes it makes you feel bored when you hear the word "museum".

If you come to Thailand because you think it is a nice country that has beautiful beaches, nice pubs, lovely people, cheap shopping places, you would want to see that how/why we have those? Just go to Museum of Siam.

From Suwannabhumi (3,000 years ago) to Siam (now), find out who we are if you like.

Ticket : Foriegner 300THB
But if you come in group (more than 5 ppl) is 150 THB each :)

Yes of course Johnyb66. They has English description in other rooms. This is not only for local but you need like 1-2 hours for this museum to see/read them all. And there's also movies about history of Thailand, you can choose the language too. :)

It looks interesting but i noticed from the photos that all writing was in Thai. Was there any english descriptions at the exihibitions for the tourists or is it more for local people to learn more of their history.

It was a long track to Thailand. I had to fly to Heathrow first, had a couple of hours layover there, then flew to Singapore and from there further to Bangkok. But it payed of because I got to fly the new Airbus 380, something I really looked forwar…Siam Museum , partly out of interest for the Siam history and partly because it had air con :) Turned out to be a great museum though, very interactive and sometimes really funny, but also interesting, especially as I hadn't seen it before. After the sightseeing… Bangkok meet-up
