Museum of Science and Industry Reviews
science museum May 08, 2009
This very big museum is located in de south of Chicago. Bus number 6 from the Loop drops you of right in front. Their are 3 floors packed with hands on experiments, displays about computers, genetics, the universe, living green etc. But also a train, airplanes and a submarine in the basement.
Many school trips visit this museum and children are runnning around every where. Until sept. 2009 there is a special exibition about Harry Potter. They have a lot of things from the movies up on display. If you're a fan, you should not mis this. It costs you extra though. The food at the foodcourt was nice but very expensive and if you also want to see a movie or go to the Harry Potter exibition, this is a very costly trip. But if your into science and stuff, it's lots of fun! |

Museum of Science and Industry Jul 26, 2002
During my trip to Chicago, I went to the Museum of Science and Industry. I like science themed museums, so I figured I would like this one. This museum has a lot of hands on exhibits, making them even more interesting. It seemed like a fun, family friendly place to spend an afternoon and learn a thing or two. My favorite part of the museum was the aircraft section. They have a fuselage from an airplane suspended from the ceiling. You can walk inside it if you want, but if you have a problem with heights, you might want to stay back. The fuselage does sway a bit with all the people walking around.

Bike the Drive is an annual event (started in 2002, I believe) that occurs on the Sunday of the Memorial Day weekend. The City of Chicago closes 15 miles of Lakeshore Drive (Highway 41) that runs along the coast of Lake Michigan to vehicular traffic…Museum of Science & Industry. Unfortuantely, the delay with my bike maintenance didn't allow any of us to finish the whole course before they began directing riders off of LSD. So we were only able to ride the whole length of the south… Biking the Drive |

The area of town we are staying at is called River North. Unimaginably it is called that because it is just north of the Chicago River. It is also west of Michigan Ave (Magnificent Mile Shopping), but which side of the River you live on, is more imp…Museum of Science and Industry has a lot of exhibits dealing with just that, science and industry. High on my list was the Coal Mine and the U-505 submarine. So our first stop was the U-505 as we needed a timed ticket to take… Museum and Wrigley Field |
