applied art covers a range of very different arts... from histroy to modern Sep 22, 2008
Unfortunately I cannot present a picture - the outside is covered in green for restauration. Inside pictures are not allowed.

The museum holds all kinds of different arts, so I did not know what to expect. We went to see a tour on "Istanbul to Mogul India" islamic art. It was rather intersting. It focused on the display of animals even though it is widespread believe that animals may not be displayed in islamic art.

There is also a section with asian art from over the centuries.

At another section it displays art from today and has a variety of chairs to show how different a chair can look and a collection of electronic devices that were "modern" when one was child. For example a electronic clock, the first electric toothbrush, a cell phone that is the size of a small brick.

Since it is the 150th years Frankfurt Zoo, the showed an art displays of people in glass boxes in connection to this. I must admit my understanding of art is zero, so I found it just strange.

The entrance fee is € 5,00. Once a month on SaTOURday they host some special event in some of the museum in Frankfurt. During this SaTOURday the entrance is free.

The museum is located right by the "Eiserner Steg" the Bibelhaus and the Museum der Weltkulturen are right beside it as well.
