Museo de Escultura al Aire Libre Madrid Reviews
Fine sculptures - free - any time Sep 28, 2009
It was in 1970 when the very high bridge by which the Calle Juan Bravo crosses Paseo de la Castellana was built and the idea was that the huge space beside the steps leading from one road to the other should be the site of sculptures by Spain's finest sculptors.
Response from sculptors was generous and there are now a number of sculptures to be seen. The idea is great but my only reservation is that the space is so vast that I found even great sculptures a bit underwhelming. I feel there should be more and some should be bigger. Even so it's a good start for a walk over the bridge to the nearby Museo Sorolla.
