Neat place! May 07, 2011
Located underneath Il Vittoriano (around the corner where the tourist hop on hop off buses stop), this museum is seldom visited and very unknown. The exhibits document how the Italian emigrated to various countries over the last century or so. The exhibits are incredibly detailed, with many contemporary artefacts, videos and visuals to go through. Unfortunately a lot of it is in Italian, and the information to read that is available in English can be rather long-winded to read. Having said that, the museum is well laid out, not too long and is free. Because of all that combined, the site is worth a quick visit.

exactly! it was by fluke actually. there's a main entrance to il Vittoriano and as you come out to walk down where the tour buses are, you see this weird looking entrance. i was one of the ones that wondered what it led to!
