Museo National de Bellas Artes Buenos Aires Reviews
Must-visit Latin-American museum Jan 18, 2015
S34°35.051' W58°23.602' many billionaires achieve immortality buying great art and donating it to their premier museum. Look for the donation signs. This museum knows its attractions and offers a non-English shortcut map to its masterpieces. That alone makes visiting this museum mandatory for art buffs.
Dutch and Flemish masters, like Rembrandt and his students, Rubbens, Frans Hals, and modern painters like Pissarro, Van Gogh (earlier work), Sisley, Monet, Toulouse Lautrec, Degas, Renoir, and Gauguin are on display.
Opposing European masters, the museum displays many Latin-American artists. Paintings of Angel Della Valle, like the La vuelta del malón from 1892 stood out for us in January 2015.
Mastering the Spanish language is necessary because the museum provides almost no English translation. The photography on the second level is interesting.
