Discover the ancient Peru - Museo Larco Aug 04, 2008
Located in a vice-royal mansion of a 18th century built over a 7th century pyramid surrounded by beautiful gardens.

This museum is more expensive than the other ones, because it shows a private but huge collection.

It's more focused on the Pre-Columbian history. Specially the Pre-Inca Civilizations' ceramic. They have a huge collection of "huacos" which are a sort of vases. This collection is so big, that they can't show everything and have to keep part of it in a storage room, which you can also visit. These are exhibited permanently, but they also have temporary exhibitions.

By the way this is the only museum, that has an "Erotic Archeological Collection".

I recommend to visit this museum if you have free time, which is difficult if you'd be traveling around the country.
