Museo Inka Cusco Reviews
You've visited the Machu Pichu. Now see the treasures it contained! Nov 30, 2013
The history of the Machu Pichu, rather, its discovery is beyond fascinating. It's a privilege being able to walk the Inca Hike for four days to recreate it. What's even more special though is all the treasures originally discovered at the time. All that is housed in this museum.
The best part of this museum is how airy it is. Set in a quadrangle, spacy and free, the museum is essentially a series of rooms on the top and bottom floors each containing various artifacts such as pots and metallic jewels. I don't think the Incas were that big on gold or silver, I certainly didn't find much here!
My favourite part of the museum though was a section filled with photos of various Peruvians - ancient and modern. Dressed in their finery, each picture was so naturally striking I think I spent the longest time in this section.
I would recommend this museum, not like 'highly highly', but definitely worth a visit if you're in the Cusco area. Do visit AFTER you do the Inca Hike as you'll appreciate it more.
