Museo Fallero Valencia Reviews
A Valencian must-see Mar 11, 2005
Far more people must know something of Las Fallas in Valencian than have ever been there at the appropriate time or even attended the Museo Fallero.
For those who know nothing about it, if any, a VERY brief explanation. las Fallas is a festival held in valencia from 15 to 19 March each year. Various organisations in the city spend much of the year and a vast amount of money making ninots, figures or spectacles usually with a theme related to current politics. At 2 p.m. each day during the period there is an exciting fireworks competition, each area seeking to put on the best show.
The ninots are paraded around at the beginning of the period and then left on exhibition and a vote is organised to determine the best. on the final day holes are cut into the ninots to allow for easy burning and at midnight they are all set alight - all that is except for the one voted best which goes to the Museo Fallero to join its winning predecessors.
Hence the museum shows the very best ninots made over a long period.
