Diocesan Museum and the Council of Trent Jun 14, 2010
Many of you must know that Trento is most famous for having been the home of the Catholic Council that bears its name, the Council of Trent.

The Diocesan Museum is located at the Palazzo Pretorio, right next to the City Duomo. It features a good number of religious paintings and objects; a collection that spans four floors.

This museum is included in the deal of the Trento Card and you can also get access to the Paleolithical Basilica underneath Trento's Duomo with your ticket.

One drawback about this museum is that there is very little information in english or in any other language besides italian. The staff does not speak english either. Anyway, I think the collection is interesting and definitively worth visiting for religious art afficionates. I just wish there was a little more information about the Council. If you can catch some italian you will learn some interesting facts about Trent's buildings and art.
