Some history from the Amazon tribes - Museo Amazonico Nov 26, 2009
This museum is located at the Malecon in a building from 1800's. The building itself is beautiful, but what is inside is more interesting.

Among paintings and pottery from the Amazon tribes, you will find several sculptures from different tribes. They are natural size and the artist went to the tribes sites and asked the inhabitants to let him make a "mold" of their bodies.

These sculptures look so real and give you the perfect idea about how these people look and their daily life.

The entrance to this museum is free. You can visit it by your own, although there's a guy outside who would offer to be your guide. It's a good idea to have someone explaining you about the things in the museum, since there are no tags. Furthermore, the guy speaks English.

Paying the guide a tip was worth it to learn more about the contents of the museum.
