It's a rich and classy world out there! Sep 18, 2015
When I first walked by this attraction on my first day in Strasbourg (it was about 2 blocks away from my hotel), I had no idea it was something "small" and will probably not take more than 15 minutes. But was I wrong! Inside the small little entrance with the unimaginably small street sign, you've entered into a new world by itself. Around 3 floors of goodies all stacked up to give on an idea of the splendour from back in the day. Unlike other museums that are usually just buildings with artifacts, the Museum here has gone to great lengths to reconstruct some of the buildings or parts of a house - such as the kitchen, or the famed courtyard.

I was originally hoping I'd be done in 15 minutes so I could sightsee the town but this place was so captivating. The highlights for me were the oven (so chinaware'ish) with the heat outlet pipe going up to the bedroom (positioned above the kitchen) so that would heat the room. Very intelligent design indeed! I also enjoyed the makeshift wine cellar with loads of barrels, emphasis on the famed trademarks of the region. Sadly it was so dark I couldn't take good enough photos.

All in all, a must-see. Sure, a local museum seems like such a cliché but hell, if it's good enough then WHY NOT?!
This is the first thing that greet…
