Going from Sydney to Canberra Feb 23, 2011
The easiest and shortest (time wising) way in order to go from Sydney to Canberra is definitely flying, but if you have time (approx 4 hours) taking the bus might be a good choice.

But the fact that you are driving doesn't mean that it will cost less. In fact it could even be more expensive since there are cheap airfares. If you decide to go by bus, I recommend to buy your ticket online and with time in advance in order to get a good rate.

I took this bus company, which has been in the business for several years and was very good. I had already tried them in Gold Coast, but for shorter rides. Buses are new, very comfy and the staff was very polite.

They don't feed you, so bring your food. Also there wasn't entertainment onboard, so it's good to have a good book and / or your ipod. A good thing is that the bus station is located in downtown, making it very convenient.

Will I take a bus to Canberra again? If I have time, I might do so.

I am unable to explain why Murrays needs to employ drivers of questionable quality, it seems normal for your 'Murrays Coach Captain' to have an attitude to passengers (reserve the seat behind driver for a quiet space???? ) general bad attitude to their job and let passengers put up with it.
Use a mobile phone while driving and steal drinks from passengers in a closed container??
Do yourself a favour and fly to Canberra ..... a much better experience and MUCH faster when your coach doesn't have to stop for other 'broken down' Murrays vehicles!
