Murphy, North Carolina is a small mountain town. It’s about 3 hours from Atlanta, Georgia and 2 hours from Knoxville, Tennessee. The nearest town is Andrews, North Carolina, which is also small. There aren’t many attractions in the area. Most people come to get away from it all. Murphy is close enough to take a day trip to Cherokee, North Carolina to visit the casinos. The Dragon’s Tail is also close enough for a day trip, which is a popular spot to ride motorcycles in the mountains that lead to Knoxville, Tennessee.
